FACTORS THAT DETERMINE THE BEHAVIOR OF THE CREDIT PORTFOLIO OF THE VENEZUELAN BANKING SECTOR, PERIOD: 2004 – 2018

This paper is a study of the various factors that affect the Credit Portfolio of the Venezuelan Banking System between 2004 and 2018. These were years in which the national government applied mandatory measures to direct credit for financing aimed at sectors that Called "strategic", this type of policy is technically known as financial repression and the work sought to understand how this policy affected the system in the years considered, in which the economy went from an environment of high inflation to the first year of hyperinflation. The work also includes a study of the Venezuelan environment for that period of analysis. To study the research problem, an autoregressive vector model with distributed lags was carried out.
